Hotel Rossia is situated next to the Kremlin and Red Square in the heart of Moscow. Townshend Landscape Architects have been appointed by Foster and Partners to design the landscape of the extensive mixed-use urban development. The key point of the concept development has been to respect the historical street grids by incorporating the landscape within them. The new development will create a second green ring that will provide different characters to the area: park; formal gardens; riverfront area with an ice rink and a boulevard along the historical wall of Moscow. Zaryadye project will be a vibrant new quarter with hotels, shops, offices and apartments, and create a backdrop for significant cultural events.
