Al Asima is situated in the Al-Sharq area of Kuwait City and is one of the largest construction projects to be undertaken by Kuwait's private sector. The mixed use scheme includes a 70 storey commercial tower, four star hotel apartments, shopping mall, health clubs, cinema complex and restaurants is to be built on a self-contained plot surrounded by four roads, two of which are the main arterial routes through the city. The landscaping is focused within a triangular internal plaza beneath a cantilevered glass canopy in the shopping mall area of the scheme. It is envisaged that the interior gardens and water features will give tenants, employees and visitors to the site the sensation of being in an outdoor space. It will create a viable space for large scale events within the complex. Al Asima is due for completion in 2010.
