Westfield London Phase Two

Client:
Westfield London
Location:
London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham
As part of a £1 billion investment, the extension to the Westfield White City development comprises a new mixed-use scheme, predominantly retail with a new residential quarter, on land directly to the north of the Westfield White City shopping centre in London.
In order to achieve a 'neighbourhood feel' to the scheme the major public realm spaces are designed to have different, individual and complementary characters, interconnected with one another and with the wider existing urban fabric of the White City area. The new spaces will also connect through to the spaces identified in the White City Opportunity Area Planning Framework (OAPF).
The design of the open spaces is part of a coherent vision for the development with the intention of encouraging a range of different activities and uses. This is provided by using a sequence of spaces, which include high quality public streets, new city squares and private residential courtyards.
