TOWNSHEND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

The Guildford Schools Redevelopment project is a £27m flagship educational campus for Christ's College Church of England Secondary School and Pond Meadow School, a special needs school. The campus is built around the complex constraints of public access across the site and the existing school which remains in operation until completion of the project. Townshend's were appointed as Landscape Architects to provide full landscape design services from inception through to completion. The landscape proposals for Christ's College and Pond Meadow respond to the needs and aspirations of both schools. It is a cohesive scheme which provides a series of outdoor spaces for pupils to utilise during breaks as well as the opportunity for their use as a teaching resource. The design seeks to ground the proposed buildings into their surroundings, enhance the ecological diversity of the site and fully integrate the required sports facilities into the scheme.
