The Warren, Royal Arsenal is a flagship project at the forefront of the wider Thames Gateway regeneration initiative. The project has transformed a derelict 76 acre site into a vibrant community which will provide affordable homes and commercial space including a theatre, hotel, bars and restaurants. The public realm is intended to maximise the visual prominence of the space by capturing views out towards the River Thames and provides a user friendly layout of recreation areas, seating, water fountains, tree planting and feature lighting. The design has responded to the influences of both natural and built forms and addresses the historical grain of the site while affording an area that can be enjoyed by all users. High quality and durable materials, finishes and furniture have been selected for the site to ensure longevity and attractiveness of the scheme. The result ensures an inclusive environment for both residents and businesses and establishes a clear identity for The Warren.
