TOWNSHEND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

KIDBROOKE VILLAGE CENTRE

Kidbrooke Village is situated in South-East London and occupies the site of the Ferrier Housing Estate that was constructed between 1968-72 on the site of an old RAF airfield. It is considered one of the worst and most notorious estates in the country and the Kidbrooke Regeneration Project seeks to demolish the scheme and replace it with a new community. Kidbrooke Village will provide some 4,400 new homes set on either side of a new 100ha park. Townshend Landscape Architects have been commissioned to develop a landscape strategy for the site, monitor the overall design quality of the whole site and to deliver phases of it. To achieve this the practice is involved in extensive consultation with many design bodies as well as overviewing the work of a series of participating practices.
