GOODMANS FIELDS
Goodman's Fields is a dense residential development on a brownfield site in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The design of the open spaces draws on the importance of integrating the development within the existing local urban fabric to create a clear and cohesive connection with the surrounding areas.
A series of diverse and complementary spaces form the public realm and consists of four primary public spaces, pedestrian linking spaces and adjoining streets. Additionally, communal courtyards and roof gardens will provide a local amenity for residents. The four public spaces, Park Square, Town Square, the Sensory Garden and the Garden Square, create areas of differing character, with both expansive and enclosed spaces that are designed to be attractive to various age groups.
The development is due to go to Planning Committee in November 2009.
